King County Incident Support Team works with the other units of the King County Search and Rescue Association to search for lost and missing persons, aid injured individuals, and conduct evidence searches in both wilderness and urban settings.
On average, IST responds to over 70 missions per year throughout the county working in the incident command post in support of field units.
The unit provides expertise in the Incident Command System (ICS), supporting the following primary functions:
- Planning
- Documentation and Accountability
- Communication and Coordination
- Other Duties as Assigned
